Best Run Clubs in Kuala Lumpur & Petaling Jaya: Schedules, Locations & Tips

Looking for run clubs to join in Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Jaya? Here’s a complete guide to the best running groups, their schedules, paces, locations, and how to join—perfect for beginners to marathon runners.

From Hyrox to KLSCM, the running scene in Malaysia has really picked up, with run clubs being one of the best ways to meet new people and find some company on those long and boring runs. This will be a guide to the popular run clubs in KL / Petaling Jaya area. From the more social run clubs, to the more serious run clubs, there’s something for everybody in KL!

Types of Run Clubs

Generally, there are a few types of run clubs:

  • Brand Led Run Clubs (Brands leading sessions such as Asics, Puma, Garmin, etc.)

  • Social Run Clubs (For slow running, usually at an easy pace, so everyone can get to know each other better)

  • Long Run Groups (Usually on the weekends, longer sessions so your long runs aren’t so boring)

So it’s all about finding your fit for what you want out of running. If you’re a beginner, do find something that is perhaps shorter distance, at easier paces, because otherwise you might get left behind and be a bit lost during the sessions. It’s something that you will need to slowly build up into. Here are a few run clubs that are popular in KL (some of which I go to myself!)
