If you know me, I love my sweet desserts - although I’m very picky about when I pick them. So when I hear that a dessert shop wants to literally brand as “Not Sweet” in Chinese (what Bu Tian translates to in English), naturally, I’m a little bit curious. If you look at Google Reviews, it really is a polarizing one, with a lot of reviews on the more extreme end of the scale (1 and 5 stars). Here’s what I thought on my visit!

Hidden within Uptown’s brand new pickle ball court Pickl3 Town is a brand new cafe serving up aesthetic and delicious cafe favourites. I’ve been seeing their Dutch Baby Pancake here, there, and everywhere, so I really just had to try it myself! Here’s what I thought of Operator 21!

Very rarely can you truly find a place that is aesthetic, has good food, and free indoor parking at the same time, so that’s why I’m really excited to share with you all my review of Bread & Bakar, a comfy spot nestled in KaMi Residences Mont Kiara. It’s a spot that serves up both Middle Eastern favourites like BBQ skewers and hummus, whilst also having Malaysian favourites like Laksa and Laksam!

Over a recent weekend, I had the chance to check out Evolt Karting. It’s a nice spot on the outskirts of town near Subang Airport, but it is a great spot to hang out with friends and go absolutely pedal to the metal for an hour or two. Hidden above the streets of Taman Desa, the residential maze behind Old Klang Road you can find a cozy little spot that is great for gatherings and live music. It is an interesting concept of cozy work environment by day, bustling music and hangout spot by night that you should definitely consider for either of the two. They’ve been around since 1996 and are one of Taman Desa’s longest running F&B venues.

Today I’m really excited to be sharing with you all a new favourite of mine! This is 555 Thainanese Chicken Rice, a new Thai-Hainanese Chicken rice spot that has just opened in Sri Hartamas. Among all the more expensive Korean spots and Western cafes (including A’dough, which is actually right next door), this is a really reasonable spot to get your fix of Thai style chicken rice!

Step inside Kura’s Kraft and you’ll find the perfect late night hang out spot and comfy mid-day brunch pick-me-up. It’s a spot with really cool vibes and a pet-friendly environment that you can enjoy yummy light snacks and of course, their amazing collection of craft beers! I would say this is probably aimed for two crowds, the mid-day pet owner hang out or the late night snack catchup!

Have had my eye on this one for quite a while. I think that this is in a similar category to Lacher Patisserie - with the addition of some proper lunch options. In short, I think it is a really nice spot to hang out and have a chat, with very nice pastries and drinks to complete the vibes!

Hidden away in a corner of Sri Hartamas is A’Dough Atelier, a Sourdough specialist bringing the love of pastries and sourdough back into the quiet neighbourhood. This is a relatively new spot that is attracting long queues for weekend coffee and pastry runs, becoming a staple for a typical Mont Kiara brunch!

This is Dong Baek, a new Korean spot in Sri Hartamas specializing in pressure cooker dishes and unique Korean alcohol offerings.

It’s a spot that I seriously see recommended everywhere from Reddit to lots of different food blogs. Given I had a bit of a break over the long weekend, I decided to give it a go!
