Cove PJ @ Atwater | Section 13, Petaling Jaya | Menu, Prices & What to Order

Today I’ll be sharing an interesting new spot in PJ that no one seems to be talking about yet. It is Cove PJ! I would say that this is definitely in the hidden gem category, as it is in a residential area that you wouldn’t even suspect there is a cafe hidden within. This is a spot that will definitely pick up traction over the next few months, so definitely bookmark it so you can visit it the next time!

This is a Korean Fusion concept cafe founded by two Busan-born owners. The first branch has been at Kota Kemuning since early 2025 and this is their second branch, inspired by coastal calm with coffee roasting facilities intended for small-batch roasting coming up soon! Just note that this spot does follow typical working hours, following a 9am - 5pm operating hour schedule.

Is it Halal

They do not have halal certification, but they are in the “halal-friendly” category. At the counter, they did mention that they source from halal suppliers, but as always, do eat at your own discretion and check with the staff accordingly if this is something that you are concerned about.

Where it Is

It is located over at Atwater Towers, in a pretty central but isolated spot near SS2. Parking is paid, but at least pretty easy to find - just park in the building itself. At least for now, this isn’t that popular of a spot yet and the rest of Atwater Towers hasn’t been fully occupied just yet, so at least for now, parking is pretty easy. For now, on weekends / public holidays, parking is RM3 per entry, whilst on weekdays, it is RM3 for the first 3 hours and RM2 for every subsequent hour. The way I see it, just treat it like RM3. The only thing I would personally comment about would be that this isn’t a walkable area - in the sense that there is nothing else much to see at Atwater Towers at this point in time. No other cafes / shops for you to take a look at, so if you come here, it would be specifically to dine at Cove PJ. It is on the level below Ground Floor on the right side, if you are facing the escalators.

What it Costs

I would say that price-wise, it is probably on par or on the slightly higher end of pricing for cafes in this tier. Their menu consists of typical Korean favourites like Kimchi Fried Rice & Beef Bulgogi Rice, coupled with some interesting fusion pasta dishes like their gochujang cream ravioli and cold dishes like their chilled seaweed capellini and their apple-glazed dakgalbi. Their selection of drinks is pretty big as well. I’ll be the first to tell you that they’re super pretty! They have a wide range of Cafe drinks such as their Watermelon Nokcha, Yuja Sparkling Ade, and lots more! Do note that they do have free water here - ranging from steamed - they have a cute kettle - to chilled and room temperature. It’s located near the payment counter where the cakes are.

Here’s a breakdown of what I tried:

Pine nut Kong-Guksu (Cold) | RM28
Duck Aglio Olio | RM27
Ice Black Sesame Latte (Cold) | RM15
Jeju Nokcha Toast | RM26

Service Charge (6%) | RM5.76
SST (6%) | RM5.76
Total | RM107.52

You can take a look at their full menu via the Linktree, by clicking right over here! I will say the following first before getting to the next part. I think that the biggest appeal about this place is the environment. It is a super nice place to chill with friends, hang out, and chit-chat. I would say that their food is probably a bit hit or miss for certain people, but this really is a nice spot to hang out with friends and family.

How it Tastes

I think the recurring theme that you’ll see with this review is that I think that the food is pretty nice overall, but I would say that I completely understand why some people might say the food is so-so - as I think some of it may be off the mark depending on personal preference. Starting off with the pine nut kong guksu. I’ve tried my fair share of pine nut kong guksu and I almost wish that this was a bit more nutty in flavour profile. Overall, I still think it is a nice dish, but I just wouldn’t say that it particularly stood out for me. But a nice and refreshing dish, especially if it is a hot day in PJ! A nice, cold bowl of noodles really will hit the spot.

The duck aglio olio is a classic dish and I would say that they are generous with the duck. It is in that category of “cannot go wrong if you order it”, so I would say that if you want a classic duck aglio olio, you have a pretty nice rendition of it coming from Cove PJ. The pasta is good, with the mushrooms and the duck accompanying the dish coming together well for a classic dish that can’t go wrong.

Their Jeju Nokcha Toast is interesting because they use nokcha that is pan-roasted - giving it a toastier, nuttier, and slightly more bitter taste that you would find it typically. I would say that after having their Jeju Nokcha Toast, I’d almost go as far to say that I think this is good enough for you to come just for desserts! A really nice dessert that is both aesthetic and tasty, although I’m sure there will be question marks over whether it is worth it at RM26. They actually ran out of strawberries and bananas on my visist, so they offered blueberries on top instead, so just keep that in mind. But I really like the Nokcha custard, and their toast is the perfect medium to pair it with. A really nice dessert, and I can imagine this being something really nice that you can share among a couple of friends while chit-chatting an afternoon away.

Their iced black sesame latte is quite pretty - although the gray colour from the black sesame doesn’t quite come through in the photos. I would probably say the same about the flavour, as I wouldn’t really say that the black sesame taste really stood out, as what definitely stands out is the coffee element of the latte, so I would say that this is so-so in the sense that I wished there was a bit more black sesame coming through in this drink.

Star Rating

7/10. I do think that I wouldn’t say the food particular stood out, but the environment is really nice, they have some pretty dishes and overall, the staff was attentive and helpful throughout. Although, there were a couple times where they served other table’s dishes to us - I would say twice is more than enough for me to point it out, so they’re definitely still in the early stages of ironing out some service issues, but apart from that, it is a really nice and pleasant environment to chit-chat the afternoon away. That’s probably the strongest part about Cove PJ and why I foresee it becoming even more popular in the future! Feels like a nice spot to have some desserts to share.
