5 new restaurants in KL, PJ & Subang Jaya worth your October
Another month of brand new openings, with a lot of exciting cafes and restaurants in and around the Kuala Lumpur, PJ, and Subang Jaya. Here are my picks of the most exciting restaurants!
The Listening Room | The Arch Galleries, KL
A really cool concept! The main concept is that they do one record a night chosen by a rotating guest selector. They are tucked away behind a swinging wall in the Volume KL lifestyle space and the walls are covered by walls of vinyl records. Their menu is super unique as well, with handcrafted drinks inspired by certain songs, including menus featuring Spotify codes that you can scan and listen along to. They do have this slightly strange concept of having to stay silent, phones down through Side A, so you will have to wait a bit if you want to order whilst it is on Side A.

Unstable Concoction | Sri Hartamas
Another very quirky spot for drinks! And they even have some quirks down to their operating hours, open from 7.51am to 6.02pm. Their drinks menu really emphasize the name of their cafe - with espresso cut with coconut water and house-whisked kaya; cacao nib tea with strawberry and chilli cheong, to house chai and luo han guo. This is a spot that I foresee only growing in popularity over time. Definitely one for you to bookmark this month!

Twenty Five°N | Taman Paramount, PJ
This month I’m picking out another Taipei favourite, in Twenty Five°N. There are two dishes in particular that have been catching the eyes of Xiao Hong Shu and Tik Tok - the Steamed Flatfish with Cordia (Tree Seed) and a Chicken Soup built on preserved green chillis & clams. Mains come with two sides.

Pho Lab by DeJane | Happy Mansion, Section 17, PJ
A really small space to fit a perfectly cozy dish that they stew together for sixteen hours. Two doors down from Jane’s Nam - both of the same owner. The signature bowl carries Australian beef slices and a slow cooked beef back rib standing in the broth. Whole kitchen is pork and lard free. Pro tip: the set comes with free noodle refill, free flow green tea and a dessert from 7AM cafe next door!

Lek by Lalachong | Ara Damansara, PJ
This is really all about their crabs! A really new exciting place for crabs that has me drooling. It is a spinoff from PJ’s ever so popular Lala Chong. They have a few dishes that look interesting as well, including their Lala Kuey Teow and Carb Meat fried rice.
