Food Blog | Meet Each Other (MEO) Eco Botanic Western Restaurant

This week’s food blog shares Meet Each Other - or MEO, as the display outside says - which is a Western restaurant with a really similar concept to An Mour Cafe (which is also coming to Eco Botanic).

Is it Halal?

There isn’t any pork in the menu, so I feel as though this comes under one of those places that is no pork, no lard, and just without the halal certification. But as with most of my posts, do eat at your own discretion if you’re concerned about this.

Where it Is

It is located in Eco Botanic, in the circle of shops surrounding the Eco Nest apartment. It is on the same row as the one containing the chicken rice shop Kang Hee Hong and Kuu by Tea Garden (I would say it is a lot closer to Quu. You’ll see a bright MEO sign outside which is quite hard to miss.

What it Costs

Me and my girlfriend ate RM41.60 worth of food. We both ordered from the chicken section because it looked like their specialties, so I had the Signature Crispy Chicken (RM18.90) and my girlfriend had the Grilled Chicken with Homemade MEO Gravy (RM18.90). Service charge was 10% (RM3.80).

It is quite similar to An Mour in more ways than one, because like An Mour, they serve bread before your main dish arrives (with 2 sauces rather than 1 XD) and they also offer you the chance to choose two side dishes with your main dish, just like An Mour. I went with coleslaw and aglio olio, whilst my girlfriend went with the paella rice and mixed salad.

Water is otherwise free, and the service is great! Really responsive and attentive to when we were looking for them and asking us how our meal went.

How it Tastes

Starting off with my crispy chicken, I will have to say it is pretty darn crispy! The dish as a whole - including the aglio olio is actually really yummy! The tomato sauce works pretty well with the dish as well, so I would say this one is probably my favourite among the two main dishes that we tried.

The grilled chicken is one of those dishes that I feel that you can’t really go wrong by ordering. It is a nice piece of grilled chicken, and I guess that’s that. I think both my and my girlfriend felt that the paella, whilst having the bright colour, lacked a bit of flavour otherwise, but I honestly don’t think that is even such a big complaint, because we actually enjoyed our meal here very much.

Star Rating

7.5/10. Honestly would like to try more from this place. I think the issue is that I’m a REALLY big fan of An Mour, so I feel that this might have brought the rating for this particular restaurant down a little, but this is one that seems to be constantly expanding their menu and experimenting with new things, so I’m definitely looking forward to my next visit to MEO Western Cafe!
