Worth the Hype? | McDonald's Thai Green Curry Burger

McDonalds released yet another brand, spanking new burger in its outlets lately and even the Coronavirus isn’t going to stop me from getting my hands on it, especially if it’s green curry flavoured.

(I ordered via Foodpanda, where you can get 35% off now - offer time dependant - using the promo code Pandafeast. You can also support this blog by using this link to get RM10 off your first order in the app - I’ll get RM10 in my wallet too, full disclaimer)

But this was definitely one “Worth the Hype or What the Hell” that I’ve been excited for! I’m a super big fan of green curry. As usual, I’ll leave their marketing team to show you the nice pictures of the burger and show you what I got myself.

The Burger

They have 2 offerings - their Thai Green Curry Chicken Burger and the Thai Green Curry Fish burger. There’s also the ‘double’ option for both of them - so you get double the patties should that tickle your fancy! You’ve basically got a nice meat patty accompanied by mixed vegetables and that Thai Green Curry sauce to complete this burger!

The burgers each come at RM13.20 (a-la-carte), 16.97 (double a-la-carte), RM15.08 (medium McValue meal) and RM16.97 (large McValue meal).

Review

Starting off with face value. Not going to lie, this is a pretty small burger compared to other burgers. When I first opened it, I legitimately thought this was a 4.5 inch burger - from its assembly to its packaging and even size.

But once you get a whiff of the burger, you will realise what you ordered this burger for. Not going to lie, it definitely seems pretty darn authentic from smell value alone. Really fragrant burger!

What I’ll say is that this is one of those promotions whereby the chicken and fish versions are actually really similar. This is because the sauce is the same, the general concept with the patties is the same - thick batter, crispy exterior and juicy interior.

McDonald's Thai Green Curry Fish Burger

I would say that the fish burger is one of the more fishy variants that I’ve tasted from McDonalds (compared to the Fillet o Fish and the Spicy Fish burger).

But the sauce for me really reminds me of a Wasabi Mayo with Thai inspired fragrance - just simply because of texture and colour - but I guess maybe that could be just me.

But overall, both versions are pretty yummy to me.

Worth the Hype or What the Hell?

I’m definitely one of those who bought the hype and this was definitely a WORTH THE HYPE for me. This one comes under definitely try once just for the novelty because it is still pretty darn tasty category for me.
