Worth the Hype? | KFC Zinger Cheezilla & Zinger Stacker | Review

Back to my review series this week, and yet again I try new fast food promotions in order to help you decide whether you should ruin your health together with me. This time it is KFC’s Zinger Cheezilla & Zinger Stacker!

Quick summary of the two burgers: the idea is that there are two patties on each of the respective burgers. The Zinger Cheezilla has one Zinger patty plus a mozzarella cheese patty, whilst the Zinger Stacker has two Zinger patties stacked up one on top of the other.

The other difference is the sauces - you have a mozzarella cheese sauce served up in the Zinger Cheezilla burger, whilst you have a jalapeno cheese sauce served up with your Zinger Stacker.

How it Tastes

Going to start off with the Zinger Cheezilla, because that’s what most people will be interested to hear about. Honestly speaking, that cheese patty is SO underwhelming. Like really. I almost can barely taste it and it doesn’t give any texture to the burger at all.

KFC Zinger Cheezilla Malaysia

It’s to the point where I would go as far as to say that I prefer the normal cheese in the normal Zinger Burger. Lacks flavour if you ask me. The mozzarella on the other hand is perhaps what makes this dish (and only if you like cheese). I wouldn’t say it is SUPER cheesy, but it is the type where if you eat a lot of it, you do feel a little nauseous at the end.

KFC Zinger Stacker

This is also the first time I tried the Zinger Stacker and I would say that the burger to chicken ratio is probably not quite right. Lots of chicken and by the time you’ve finished half of the chicken, you’ve probably finished the burger. Not really a knock on the burger though, as I do love the good old Zinger patty.

If you ask me, I would say that the jalapeño cheese sauce tastes eerily similar to the Zinger Cheezilla mozzarella cheese sauce. I couldn’t really tell it apart. Maybe I was too cheese-d up, so that can happen when you eat these burgers back to back.

Worth the Hype or What the Hell?

This kinda gets a What the Hell for me. Underwhelming burgers that don’t meet the mark for me and if you really needed to ask me which one is more worth trying, I would say it is the Zinger Stacker. The cheese patty isn’t doing it for me, and at RM1 cheaper, I can get a 2 Zinger Patty burger instead of a Zinger Patty + Cheese Patty burger, so I would recommend the Zinger Stacker.
