Coming to you this week from the Damansara Jaya area, this time it is LI, or 力 in Chinese. This was for a teambuilding kind of lunch for my company, so this round I was responsible for picking out the venue - and this is what I went with in the end. This was what we ate for 3 (of course we tried to maximise our budget haha, so by no means is this a normal 3 person meal).

Tan Cha has been everywhere on my Instagram feeds (more because of advertisements than anything). It really is everywhere talking about how they have received the award for being in the Michelin Guide 2022. Here’s what I thought of the restaurant on my visit there a few weeks ago.

Quite frankly, I can’t think of many urban food legends quite like the LSE Fried Rice. I had heard about it from friends raving about it - usually more of a way to sober up after a night out on the town - and I was absolutely intrigued.

One restaurant that has been eagerly anticipated by the Malaysian crowd in Dubai is none other than Oriental Dining - whose chef is actually a Malaysian who built a foodie following at Oriental Restaurant Dubai!

I’m not going to lie, on entry to Nine Squares, I actually didn’t particularly think : Chinese Steamboat Restaurant. I think my thoughts went more in the direction of “Rustic Western Restaurant” simply because of the interior design.

Definitely not been active on my blog of late (in terms of food at least, I did quite a bit on badminton at the Olympics) and I have an announcement. I’m going to Dubai pretty soon, so most of my content will mostly be driven around being in Dubai.

To have a cheap food option in this area is an absolute DREAM COME TRUE for me. Yuan Eatery is a really nice addition to the Sunway Iskandar area for all you ‘Zhap Fan’ or budget eaters!

If you ask me, when someone says trendy desserts, I tend to think more about waffles, souffles and generally Western/Korean desserts. This spot in Bugis (and Novena) is an exception to the rule, being able to pull in long queues everyday!

I feel as though Hakka food has that very special homely feel to it. Maybe because I have some Hakka background in my family, maybe it is just the style of cooking. Hakka Traditional Foods Gelang Patah is a fantastic place to get your fix of Hakka food!

Today I’m sharing one of my favourite breakfast spots in Bukit Indah, Chef Prata! They serve up a Chinese twist to roti canai (or roti prata, as they call it in Johor/Singapore), and a mean nasi lemak to make for the perfect breakfast.

Today I’m sharing a restaurant in the Eco Botanic area! I tried out Toast House, hidden away in a little corner, and took a dive into the food they have. They offer kopitiam style food, and offer a cheaper option for people looking for a quick lunch in the Eco Botanic area.

Ma la hot pot is a phenomenon in Singapore, so it is no wonder that this trend is slowly spreading over to Malaysia - with Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur, in particular, growing into the trend. This restaurant in particular specialises in a less known dry version of the dish, cooking it with the chillis without a soup base.

Although their name suggests that this is a place exclusively selling bubble tea, they actually have a pretty decent food menu, serving up popular Taiwanese style rice boxes.

Offering a fusion of Chinese, Western and Nyonya food, Daddy Village is a restaurant with an extensive menu and dishes that leave you wanting more! It offers excellent food at a manageable price point.

Today I have more food coming from the Nusa Bestari area (Giant side), and very recently I took a visit to IKar, a popular fish noodle restaurant! It has an extensive menu and delicious food, so I’m sure this will be something that you guys will enjoy.

Got a craving for some seafood kwey teow soup in Gelang Patah? Look no further than Xing Ho Restaurant! It serves kwey teow soup at a fairly decent price point, making sure you come back for more the next time!

A place that I personally eat regularly, Fountain Cafe (何泉珍) Aeon Bukit Indah offers a wide menu of delicious food at affordable prices, making it a place that you might want to consider if you’re looking for nicer meals on a budget.

If you want a bitter gourd soup, there’s no better place than Kah Kah Loke (佳佳乐苦瓜汤) to have your fix! It is a place that I find myself going back from time to time because they produce delicious homely meals.
