With People & Places not operating now, I’ve been looking for a new hipster cafe to recommend to friends and I think that Poise by J is definitely one of them!

For all those looking for a decently priced lunch (as long as you’re not greedy like me XD), Liang Khee Tomyam Mee is a nice option to look at! Similar in concept to Xiang La La (except this one is in Tomyam Soup), this is a pretty yummy place to grab a nice lunch.

If you’re looking for some legitimately delicious (but guilty-pleasure inducing) food around Mont Kiara, there really is no better place than Fat Fook Inn. This is legitimately a really yummy option for some premium (at least for me) Zi Char style food in Mont Kiara.

This is a pretty trendy restaurant, becoming what is probably one of the most hip restaurants in 2019, and I managed to finally try it at the very end of the year (New Year’s Eve XD)! Table & Apron’s fried chicken is a must have for all those looking for a delicious (and healthy) fried chicken!

Chef Chan Hon Meng is back at in again and this time he’s bringing his Michelin-Star awarded soy sauce chicken rice to the streets of Kuala Lumpur, with what I believe is his first permanent branch outside of Singapore.

I feel like if you’re going to Changi and want Instagram worthy desserts, you pretty much just head to either Birds of Paradise or Emack and Bolio’s. The differences are pretty distinct, and I think you can see the differences right from when you seen the respective shops.

I was pretty intrigued when I saw quite a few Instagram posts about this restaurant serving up sizzling hot plate dishes, so naturally I went to check it out! It is none other than Johor Bahru’s very own Mad Plate Malaysia restaurant!

Although my understanding is that more people come here for their supply of frozen fish, they have some delicious choices on their menu, that will really satisfy your raw fish cravings!

A really new restaurant in Bukit Indah would be 随意 or Homies Taiwanese Restaurant! It opened late in 2018, and has now become a popular restaurant serving up (relatively) cheap and healthy options for lunch and dinner.

Not often I do these kind of posts, but I feel not many people not about the Liang Sandwich Bar in Bukit Indah, so I thought I would give them a healthy shoutout.

A hidden gem, I would say, because NOONE pretty much knows about this cute little ramen restaurant in the middle of Gelang Patah. Baobei Japanese Shoyu Ramen is a new ramen shop that I would say is definitely worth a try!

With a white & clean concept, Openwork Johor Bahru is one of those ‘hipster cafes’ that you wanna go ‘for the gram’. Wide open spaces and a fusion menu concept is what you expect when you go to Openwork for a meal.

Offering a fusion of Chinese, Western and Nyonya food, Daddy Village is a restaurant with an extensive menu and dishes that leave you wanting more! It offers excellent food at a manageable price point.

Previously named Ah Soon Restaurant, Soon Ji pork organ soup (阿顺饭馆) is a local iteration of a famous dish - the pork organ soup, or 猪杂汤. Personally, it is one of my favourite places to eat at Batu Pahat Itself!
