I would say that Japanese restaurants in nice Singapore hotels have always had the reputation of being among the best food around. I would say this has changed slightly over the years, but they still do produce great food - Chikuyotei in particular being famous for their unagi!

From the team that brought you People & Places comes Routine by Soon! I would describe this as an almost fast food-esque (in concept rather than quality, because I think it is still pretty tasty & healthy) version of the original restaurant, but it’s great if you want a quick bite.

If you ask me, when someone says trendy desserts, I tend to think more about waffles, souffles and generally Western/Korean desserts. This spot in Bugis (and Novena) is an exception to the rule, being able to pull in long queues everyday!

Hello peeps! Today I’m sharing a tonkatsu place in central KL, and it is Ma Maison Ebisu! This is a tonkatsu restaurant located in Lot 10 (walking distance away from Pavilion, Fahrenheit, etc. ) Shopping Centre that I wanted to try, having tried Ma Maison in Singapore.

Honestly my pick for Malaysian friends in Dubai if you’re missing home, Social House offers quality Asian food, (you got the lot really, Korean bibimbap, nasi goreng, satay, really most things you would miss from Malaysia) Western food and some great desserts to compliment them.

Back to a bit of Johor Bahru food blogging - just because this was an old one that I haven’t shared in a while. Today I’m sharing 7dish cafe! (of 7dish coffee, I’m not sure which one its meant to be. This is a place which has an all-day breakfast menu, but the star of this cafe spot is definitely that souffle.

Trendy, hip and wildly popular, Zuma Dubai combines traditional Japanese tastes with a contemporary twist, making it one of the hardest places to get a table in Dubai. Promising of high quality ingredients and vibrant atmosphere, this is definitely one of the best eats in Dubai for a reason.

Sharing a really fun one today - because I think the concept is modern, fun and almost smart casual. It’s Tasca, by 2-Michelin-star chef Jose Avillez (of Belcanto fame). This is a really new place that I haven’t seen too many reviews about, so it is one that I am absolutely thrilled to share with you guys.

My first time in a restaurant by Gordon Ramsay, and it doesn’t disappoint. Bread Street Kitchen is a lovely spot for a relaxing lunch with quality food at Atlantis Dubai! (and don’t forget to try the beef wellington - Gordon Ramsay’s signature!)

So, last Friday (yes, weekends are Friday and Saturday here) my family headed to Shangri La Dubai to check out the weekend a-la-carte buffet offered at the Vietnamese restaurant Hoi An. (I sincerely apologise about the quality of the photos, the lighting and everything made it a bit difficult but this is what I have)

So, I’m back in Dubai for the summer holidays and the first foodie spot I’m recommending is Cocoa Room Galleria Mall Dubai! This review is basically covering their breakfast options and NOT their lunch/dinner options, so do keep this in mind.

I had one dinner to eat at Changi and a REALLY limited budget (I mistook my budget and ultimately had less than SGD30 - and consider I might have had my luggage being over the weight limit, etc.), so I thought a really good option would be Pink Fish Jewel Changi, which I saw quite a bit of on YouTube and some other sites.

I feel like if you’re going to Changi and want Instagram worthy desserts, you pretty much just head to either Birds of Paradise or Emack and Bolio’s. The differences are pretty distinct, and I think you can see the differences right from when you seen the respective shops.

I was pretty intrigued when I saw quite a few Instagram posts about this restaurant serving up sizzling hot plate dishes, so naturally I went to check it out! It is none other than Johor Bahru’s very own Mad Plate Malaysia restaurant!

With similar origins to the wildly famous (I have lots of friends who swear by this Bak Kut Teh) Bak Kut Teh from Kota Tinggi, Kiang Kee Bak Kut Teh (强记肉骨茶), Kota Zheng Zhong offers Johor Bahru-ians a chance to experience that very taste right from Nusa Bestari.
